Our involvement in The West African Advanced School of Theology Extension in Mbalmayo is an important part of our ministry in Cameroon. Jim and Cynthia Lemons continue to lead the school in forming leaders of the Full Gospel Mission. In various classes, David is able to interact with pastors and leaders of the church who come to the campus each fall and spring to grow deeper in their knowledge of God's word. After 3 years the students complete their studies in Lome Togo on the WAAST campus where they receive a bachelor's degree. Several of the pastors have furthered their studies and have received Masters degrees. Pastor Niba, a regional pastor in Yaounde is presently in a doctoral program at WAAST.
The Cameroonian church places a great emphasis on missions, sending out missionaries into neighboring countries. The West African Advance School of Theology is all about missions. It is our firm belief that soon the church will be sending missionaries into North Africa and beyond where countries are closed to Western missionaries. The vision of this church is to go to the ends of the earth. A strong church in Central Africa will have a dynamic impact on the entire world.
